It is right in the the center, yet it seems to be in a quiet world of its own…It is on a lovely side street with many local restaurants and bars. It is only 100 meters to Ponte Vecchio and 600 meters to the Duomo on a pedestrian street. It is an absolute gem, centrally located with its own roof terrace enjoying views over Florence, spacious rooms throughout and inspirational contemporary furniture – what could beat this as a venue for a stay in one of the world’s most beautiful, historic cities?
Penthouse Artistico’s origins date back to the 12th Century, but its present form is mainly derived from the 17th Century renovation by the Marchese Anton Maria Bartolommei and designed by architect Ferdinando Tacca (who also designed the stunning entrance).
Inside, up on the fourth floor, is the fabulous terraced Penthouse Artistico which has been decorated to the highest standards in a trendy contemporary style by the internationally renowned interior designer. Upon arriving at the Palazzo, one immediately enters into a grand neoclassical hall with its original columns and statues. A beautiful vaulted staircase leads to the upper floors, but for the less energetic there is also a newly installed mirror lined elevator!
For the lofty dining room on the top floor with a radical restoration of all the superstructures, featuring partitions, false ceilings, and layers of paint to highlight the original structure made of bricks and pillars. From the sofa you have views from S.Stefano church through the blooming terrace, and on the opposite side you can see the tower of Palazzo Vecchio.
The kitchen is large and equipped with everything one could wish for. Bedrooms enjoy stunning marble en suite bathrooms and every modern facility has been thought of including air conditioning and internet connection. There is also the availability of a private cook service which, after a day’s exploring on foot in Florence, provides a great excuse to relax with aperitivi on the roof terrace and soak in the magic of Florence.

Penthouse Artistico is composed of an entrance lobby, large double volume living/dining room with fireplace (French door to fully furnished terrace/roof garden), fully equipped eat-in kitchen, TV, attic kitchen storage, half bath (with toilet and basin only), laundry cupboard, storage.. There are 5 bedrooms, whose layout is as follows: • bedroom 1, master suite: king size bed, all marble bathroom, walk in shower with Turkish bath, stair to bathtub in loft, large counter, back down the stairs, door to terrace • bedroom 2, Lambertesca 1: twin beds, en suite marble bathroom, separate shower • bedroom 3, Attic, on the upper level: king size bed, en suite shower room with double stone sink • bedroom 4, Master 2 suite: king size bed, marble bathroom, wall mounted shower in the tub, stairs to private lofted sitting room with sofa/ day bed, 50” TV screen, and large counter, back down the stairs, door to terrace • bedroom 5, Lambertesca 2: king size bed, marble bathroom, stone sink, separate shower
Fully air conditioned, WiFi, satellite TV. Cost of heating and air conditioning is included. House has a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, and offers a range of multmedia devices. Rooms and bathrooms have complete sets of linen, hairdryers, bath amenities including soap, shampoo, shower gel and body lotion. Cribs, high chairs and wheel chairs can be provided. Basic supplies are always available for free, such as olive oil from the owners estates, mineral water, balsamic vinegar, various English teas, coffee, paper napkins, toilet papper, soap, candles, etc.
Private garage is available for one car, but is problematic due to the recent laws requiring a daily permit that can only be purchased in person at the police station. Driving in the historic district is only allowed with the permit. It is easier to hire a driver/taxi to bring you to the apartment, or to pick up and dropoff your rental car when you are taking an excursion outside of the city. Parking anywhere in Florence is very limited. Florence is a walking city.
There are several car rental companies within a short taxi ride), so we suggest doing Daily car rentals if you want to explore Chianti, Siena, or Tuscany on day trips. Train station is nearby offering lots of options including Venice. two hours away. Should you opt for a rental car you must request a permit, it is 5 Euro for a daily pass (only issued for the day of) at the Police Station, allowing you entry on these streets for up to 4 hours. You don’t need another pass to bring your car out. The police station is closed for two hours during lunch and on Sundays. The location is Piazza della Calza, 2, 50125 Firenze a few minutes from the (apartment) historic district. Alternatively, consider a parking garage that offers weekly rates that will include the permit in their fee.

Staff
Light housekeeping is included daily and final cleaning. One week rentals include linen and towel changes mid-week, otherwise linens & towels are an additional charge. Service not available on Sundays, or National Holidays. Modest Hourly Charge applies for Cooking, serving meals, grocery shopping etc.
We apologize, but we cannot accommodate early, or late check out.

€2000 damage deposit to be held against valid credit card 3 business days before check in and held 3 business days after check out.
